Welcome to the Houston Women’s Society of CPAs (HWSCPA) website. The purpose of the Houston Women’s Society of CPAs (HWSCPA) is to advance the professional interests of women CPAs residing in the Houston area through various programs and publications.

We are also setting up a Scholarship Donation Fund, if you would like to contribute. We will be awarding scholarships in the Spring of 2024. Check out our Scholarships page for more information on what we are doing to help local women accounting students.

We want to GROW and EXPAND our membership. Please help us spread the word and invite other female CPAs to our various events. This year, we will be hosting social gatherings, virtual webinars, our annual leadership conference, our annual spring seminar, and our end of year social in May.

President’s Message

I am honored to be the returning HWSCPA President for the 2024-20245 fiscal year. I have the awesome privilege of working with a wonderful group of beautiful and intelligent women who have volunteered their time for a number of years as Board members and Committee chairs.

We are very excited to roll out a number of courses and events in the coming year. For starters, we are hosting our Fall Social in September, a virtual webinar in October, and our annual leadership conference on November 4th. Please watch our Event Calendar for details on these events and more.

Our goal for HWSCPA is to offer educational programs and opportunities to connect and network with other women in the accounting profession. It is an honor to work closely with a number of tenured women who have been members and served on the Board for some time now, but who also serve as mentors and friends in our journey together with the HWSCPA. Our board meets on a monthly basis to plan many learning and networking opportunities throughout the year for our membership and our guests. We would not have a local organization such as this if it weren't for the devoted volunteers committed to making this a success each and every year.

I like to think we are Houston's best kept secret, but in spite of that, it is my personal goal and the goal of our Board to grow our membership and further expand our reach into the female accounting community in Houston.
